Auto Downloading of IMD INSAT3D Satellite images cloud movement product

INSAT-3D is a meteorological, data relay and satellite aided search and rescue satellite developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation.The mission goal is stated as "to provide an operational, environmental & storm warning system to protect life & property and also to monitor earth’s surface and carryout oceanic observations and also provide data dissemination capabilities."

Full frame image payload mode in INSAT-3D scans 18° E-W x 18°N-S covering the entire earth disk and some space around. The acquisition time for full globe is around 26 minutes. So daily 48 acquisitions are possible in every half hourly interval.

These half hourly images useful for storm, cyclone predictions and cloud movement and so on. By using these half hourly images IMD generated differrent products like cloud movement, temperature.

These images/Products can be download from IMD Websites for any further process and analysis. Python program allows us to download images from any link  with shutil module. I had developed an independent exe to downlaod these cloud movement products for every half an hour daily. This is a 64 bit python based exe. click here to get exe file.

After running this exe file it will be download IMD Insat-3d images cloud movement product for every half an hour, tha name of the file will be insat3d_(time).
